Peter Jackson has a knack for turning fledgling companies instilled with great business model into very profitable market leaders. He has accomplished this several times over during the last 20 years. Known as a mature market disruptor, Peter finds the one thing makes a big difference to the customer and makes that the company's core focus.
Peter joined GroundWork Open Source in January of 2009 because he understood the company's value based on the market potential and already proven disruptive model. GroundWork's foundation, built on it's unique open source project amalgamation strategy and business model matched Peter's profile of a company poised to become the next market leader in an ever-commoditizing IT management sector. Lastly, he was excited about the employee culture and strong customer base plus the great experiences and active involvement that the cofounders contributed to the business.
He's been the chairman, CEO and president of Intraware Inc., the premier provider of on-demand delivery solution since 1996. Keynote Intraware customers included IBM, Adobe, AutoDesk and EMC. Jackson took Intraware public, undergone private funding rounds, grew the revenue to $100MM in sales and services and eventually sold Intraware in January 2009.
Previous to Intraware, Peter was the president and CEO of Dataflex, Inc — a full service systems integrator who had revenues over $400MM and lead the sale to Vanstar. Prior, Peter was the CEO, President and Director of Granite Systems, Inc. which became one of the largest service and product suppliers for HP, Apple, IBM, Compaq and Microsoft.
Peter graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and has won the 1998 Red Herring Entrepreneur of the Year award and has twice been a finalist to the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
