Download GroundWork Monitor 5.2.1 - Rpms

GroundWork Monitor Community Edition 5.2 .rpms Install these RPMs on a clean install of the underlying operating system: you’ll need to install mySQL and Sun’s official Java as prerequisites. Available for RHEL 4 and 5, and SuSE 9 and 10.

 

Installing GroundWork Monitor Community Edition

  1. Review the Distribution Notes

    Select these links to download and review GroundWork Monitor Community Edition 5.2.0 install guide, readme, and release notes before installation.

  2. Install the Prerequisites
    Perl-DBI:
    [perl-DBI-1.40-5.i386.rpm]
    After downloading, enter the following command to install: rpm -ivh perl-DBI-1.40-5.i386.rpm
    Java JDK Update 6
    [jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586-rpm.bin.tar.gz]
    Follow the steps below to un-tar the downloaded file and install:
    1. Un-tar package with the command:
      tar xvfz jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586-rpm.bin.tar.gz
    2. Change the permissions to execute:
      chmod +x jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586-rpm.bin
    3. Execute the binary file to extract/install the RPM file with the command:
      ./jdk-1_5_0_06-linux-i586-rpm.bin
    4. You will be prompted to accept the license.
    5. All files will be put into: /usr/java
    MySQL Community Edition:
    Red Hat: [rhel5 32-bit], [rhel5 64-bit], [rhel4 32-bit], [rhel4 64-bit]
    SuSE: [sles 9 32-bit], [sles10 32-bit], [sles10 64-bit]
    1. Download Server, Client, Shared libraries, Shared Compatibility Libraries.
    2. After downloading, enter the following command to install all of the MySQL files: rpm -ivh MySQL*
  3. Download the GroundWork Monitor RPMs

    GroundWork offers downloads of Community Edition monitoring package for various operating systems. RPMs are available above.

  4. Install GroundWork Monitor

    GroundWork Monitor Community Edition’s Installer makes installation a snap! The Installer provides an interactive solution for 1) a new installation, 2) upgrades, and 3) uninstalling the product. It will prompt you if there are any ambiguities of what it should do and offer you options wherever possible. Follow the steps below to un-tar the downloaded file and run the automated installer.

    1. Login as root user.
    2. Un-tar package with the command: tar -xzvf *.tar.gz
    3. Change the directory to groundwork: cd groundwork-installer
    4. Start the Installer: ./run_install.sh
  5. Verify the Installation

    Go to the URL: http://<hostaddress>/. Once you have launched GroundWork Monitor, select the Bookshelf option and review the document Verifying and Completing Installation.

  6. NOTE: An issue has been found with contact groups in the GroundWork Monitor 5.2.1 release. A service pack for this issue is located here and should be applied immediately after verifying your installation.
